We had 36 participants and nine first timers at Renton parkrun #76, where it was such a stunning morning I wish I could include all the photos in this report because they are all beautiful! Thank you Nikol and Maria for your lovely photography!
We welcomed local first timers Rohit BHAT and Maria SHU, we're so glad you made it and hope to see you again! We also had a bumper crop UK parkrun tourists, representing Gloucester, Tilgate, Woodhouse Moor, Brighton and Hove, and two wearing the coveted black parkrun 100 swag shirts, Barry and Joyce BELL from Shorne Woods parkrun. Thank you for joining us!
We were a bit short of volunteers as the morning began, but our parkrun community stepped up and filled three critical roles to ensure the event went without a hitch. A big thank you to Phil ANDERSON, Amy BROSKA, Nikol GIANOPOULOS, Cam KENNEDY, Erik LEE, Ryan MCIRVIN, and Laura MURRAY for giving their time and support to parkrun.
There were quite a few future parkrunners, not yet 4 years old, on the course in strollers, practicing their walking and running skills and even donning tiny yellow volunteer vests. How exciting is it to see them transitioning from tiny babies to celebrating first steps and first jogs! There's a saying in parkrun that it's a run or walk, not a race and I think that's such an important message. There's something for everyone at parkrun whether it's striving for a personal best time or sharing a beautiful day with your little ones, burning off some doggy energy with your barkrunner or chatting at the finish line with new found friends.
Our first finishers were Phil ANDERSON and Laura Murray, congratulations on your fantastic runs and thank you for then immediately jumping in to barcode scan and distribute finish tokens, that was a huge help! We also had a whopping eight finishers achieve personal best times on the course, well done Phil ANDERSON, Martin DOYTCHEV, Ken HOMAN, Crystal LOWY, Laura MURRAY, Tyler PATTON, David PHILLIPS, and Tandi TAYLOR. You remind us all to keep striving for our goals be they on or off the course.
Come join us across the silver bridge to parkrunland on Saturdays. A magical world of fun, friendship and fitness awaits you!
