Joe Creason parkrun #42

"The answer to life, the universe, and everything"
23rd February 2019

event_42

This week 15 people ran, jogged and walked the course on a gloomy day on a wet course, the rain did hold off and a good time was generally had. Three first timers joined us and two Personal Bests were achieved! AND one of our junior runners overcame mid-event pain to complete their 10th event, making them eligible for The T-shirt! Perhaps we can celebrate at a future event when the t-shirt is received (and donuts?).

#42 was made possible by 7 volunteers:

Brian W • Mike N • Noah M • Heather C • Daisy W • Josh P • Chuck B

Extra thanks to Chuck for bringing the tent & table ... just in case!

Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Joe Creason parkrun Results Page.

Joe Creason parkrun started on 28th April 2018. Since then 309 participants have completed 956 parkruns covering a total distance of 4,780 km, including 178 new Personal Bests. A total of 40 individuals have volunteered 269 times.

Feb 2, 2019 Event Update: Cancelled

Update: We officially cancelled this event, erring on the side of safety. The bridges and downhill were too icy & hazardous.

This would have been our 40th event and it is the first one we've had to cancel due to safety issue. We look forward to seeing you in the upcoming weeks!

Hi all,

We are delaying the start for Groundhog Day 2019 (February 2, 2019) by 30 minutes to allow for sun to melt frozen fog on bridges & hills. If that does not work, we may have to cancel.  We love seeing you each week but your safety is our first priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Due to the crazy amounts of other Thanksgiving 5k and road races, we are not holding a special parkrun on Thanksgiving Day. If you're up for a New Year's Day run though - let us know! We're here for you and will host one if there is enough interest!
