Thank you to all of those who turned up to show support at the Palisades 4th of July Parade, which will hopefully help to widen visibility of parkrun at Fletcher's Cove - it seems to be working as we attracted another 6 first timers on Saturday!
Fletcher's Cove parkrun #220 welcomed 63 this week, of which 12 recorded personal bests - well done to all of you! Our Run Director Terry led a keen bunch of volunteers...
but do please try to remember your barcode (printed or on a band which you can get from the parkrun website - no mobile screen shots or tattoos!), as this makes it so much easier at the finish.
This was a day for the younger generation, with Evan the 1st male & 1st overall, and Bella 1st female - both in the JM & JW category respectively - well done! Bella is starting to snap at the heels of her dad and it won't be long before the competition hots up! On that note it's worth reminding everyone that parkrun welcomes all abilities, so whilst the youngsters are sprinting away, feel free to jog, run or walk at your own pace - you'll never be last as that's the job of our tail walker!
We were thrilled to welcome back Dr. Anthony Fauci who made a guest appearance on Saturday - we are all very grateful for his hard work and dedication in helping America to get through COVID, and enabling parkrun to open up again - always welcome at Fletcher's Sir!
Thanks as always to our other celebrities - the volunteers who made it happen this week: Dan, Jason, Scott, Michael, Alice, Evan, Terry, Alexandra, Soroush, William, Lien, Martha & Katherine!
See you next week, and remember: don't forget your barcode! Matt
