Fletcher’s Cove Parkrun #208 – Run Report

Upfront with a few dates for your diary:

Saturday March 7th - Fletcher's will be looking to celebrate International Women's Day - more to follow over the next few weeks, but dig out something purple to wear for the run or even better, volunteer 25 times and you get a purple t-shirt!

Saturday March 14th - Terry will be leading this Parkrun with a St Patrick's Day theme, so it will be something green to wear this week and the reward of Irish stew to help get a PB!

Back to this week's Parkrun which saw a good turnout of 59 runners & walkers, with 7 first timers - welcome to all and hope to see you back, along with some of the over 3,000 participants that have joined us at Fletcher's Cove Parkrun over the last 4 and a bit years!

Well done as well to Whitney for leading a strong team of volunteers as Run Director, who all contributed to a smooth event and an enjoyable experience for everyone at Fletcher's.  Thanks Chris, Steven, Nancy, Kai, Kim, David, Evan, Terry, Ilana, Paula, Maria & Thomas!  We are always on the look out to expand the pool of volunteers and there are a variety of roles, so just ask someone next time you're at the Cove.

The sun and a break in the wet weather made for some fine running conditions, with 14 of you recording a personal best!  Well done to Chris for coming in over the line as the first male and to Olivia (a first timer at Fletcher's) as the first woman - although remember it's not a race and all abilities are more than welcome!

The cold, but sunny weather also saw a variety of running gear, but always with plenty of smiles!  Check out more photos from Terry at our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/fletcherscoveparkrun/ and we'll see you all again next week!  Matt
