Valentine's Day parkrun at Fletcher's Cove! The parkrunners passion for their Saturday routine was in fulsome display. Another helter-skelter week of soaring and plummeting temperatures saw the temperature gauge shift from mid 60s on Friday to upper 30s at parkrun hour and lent a distinctly glacial aura to the parkrunners gathering. In addition, a strong headwind gave rise to a few flutters along our straight and narrow towpath....But brave hearts were rewarded at the finish with Nancy's delectable concoction of heart-shaped Valentine's cookies..

40 parkrunners, including 7 first timers. 7 best times recorded. 9 noble volunteers.  Terence Dunbar achieved a "Groundhog" by finishing in the same time (24:06) at consecutive events at the same location.

Kudos and grateful thanks, as ever, to the volunteers, the oil that keeps the parkrun cogs turning - Roberta Alvarez, Jolanta Blazaite, Susan Crammond, Nancy Edson, Andres Falconer,  Eric London, Dan Owen, Rodger Potocki and Linda Rahal.

Interesting factoid for the week - what's the fastest and slowest first place time in US parkruns to date? Answer: fastest is 14:44, run at Clermont Waterfront in October 2015. Slowest is 59:59, again at Clermont in August 2018. Fastest and slowest for parkrunners coming in at 100th position in a parkrun? : 25:22 at Jamaica Pond in April 2018 and 1:24:53 at College Park in December 2018....

Until next Saturday, keep calm, keep parkrunning, and carry on....
