Everyone thought that the weather was feeling a bit cooler, but I tried to warn them at the starting line: it's muggier than you think. Lo and behold, the end of the first of the two laps saw a lot of men removing their shirts and a lot of women wishing that it was socially acceptable for them to do so, too. Surely it can't last too much longer! With overcast skies, a temperature of 70°, and a dew point of 69°, it could have been worse, but it sure could be better...
Weather aside, this morning was fabulous! We welcomed three newbies: Elena Bradley, Mark Hambleton, and Angela Schira. Great to see you, and we hope you come back again soon. Beside three new folks, we also had three runners hit PRs. Congratulations are due to Damarius Hayes, Brandi Martin, and Elena Popowitch. Congrats on your achievement, and keep on running from this muggy summer and straight into a lovely and cool autumn.
Also deserving of a big round of applause is our lovely volunteers from this morning. Thanks very much to Janet Cromer, Julie Messina, William Schmitz, Martin Warters, and Carlos Webb. To put it in ways that people from all generations can understand: you're hepcats, groovy, totally awesome, da bomb, on fleek (not sure about that last one, but all those crazy kids keep using it on social media and I'm trying to fit in).
