Cancelled – Depot Park parkrun, 10/1/2022

Hi everyone,
Based on the current forecast of the path of Hurricane Ian, we are cancelling parkrun this Saturday. We do understand the storm may be clear by then, but all city facilities are closed through Monday. We will reschedule our 4th Anniversary celebration for later in the month.

International Day of Peace Parkrun 9/17!

Come join us at the Parkrun tomorrow for celebrating the International Day of Peace! See you at the east-overlook of Depot Park. Event starts promptly at 7:30am. All abilities welcome!

On this day we will walk, jog or run for peace around the world. Join us as we celebrate the International Day of Peace.

Depot Park parkrun is a FREE, weekly, timed 5K open to all runners and walkers of all fitness levels and abilities.

Parkrun is a global movement to get folks to enjoy an active lifestyle that started in the UK. Every Saturday morning participants come to parkrun with hundreds of thousands across the world.

First timers must register for FREE once at parkrun.us/register and bring the emailed barcode with you to the event.

Depot Park Road Closures for 8/13

The roundabout at South Main Street and Depot Avenue near @depot.park has had a stormwater pipe failure. In order to make repairs, the roads leading to the roundabout will be closed to northbound and eastbound traffic from Monday, Aug. 8-Friday, Aug. 19.

Detours at the Depot Park roundabout:
> Northbound traffic on South Main Street will detour east onto SE 10th Ave.
> Eastbound traffic on Depot Avenue will first detour south onto S. Main St. and then east onto SE 10th Ave.
Please plan accordingly and give yourself some extra time if you travel this route.

Depot Park Parkrun 07/23/2022

We started our weekend with a bright and sunny day at Depot Park, with a temperature of 73° and 95% humidity.

This week 57 people ran, jogged and walked the course, including 8 first-timers. Despite the hot sun, it was another banner week for Personal Bests, with a total of 12: Andrew, Nigel, Luis, Kaitlin, Kathryn, Leanne, Casey, Parker, Thomas, Helen, Patricia, and Jacqueline. Congratulations to our First Five finishers: Justin, William D, David, Sam, and William S!

Special congratulations to John Jopling for reaching his 50th parkrun this week! In case you missed it, John was featured in the Parkrun USA blog last month: https://blog.parkrun.com/.../07/06/the-same-but-different/.
We welcomed parkrun tourists Justin and Karen from England’s Lloyd parkrun today. From much closer to home, we also welcomed current and former Gainesville City Commissioners, Helen Warren and Adrian Hayes-Santos. Glad to have you with us!

Depot Park Parkrun 07/16/2022

We had a comfortable start to our weekend at Depot Park, with cloudy skies, a temperature of 76° and 83% humidity, and beautiful smiles to show!

This week 54 people ran, jogged and walked the course. We welcomed 9 first-timers today. Our celebratory cowbell got a workout, with 11 new Personal Bests: Harper, Joshua, Luis, Daniela, Kaitlin, Taylor, Leanne, Aimee, Nick, Sally, and Kim! Congratulations to our First Five finishers: Fred, Sam, Harper, Sarah, and Pierre.

We welcomed two parkrun tourists from North Wales today. Glad to have you with us!

Depot Park Parkrun 07/09/2022

We started our weekend with a sunny summer morning at Depot Park. Temperature at start time was 76°, with 93% humidity. It was a pretty, albeit hot morning at parkrun!

This week 53 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 9 were first timers and 3 recorded new Personal Bests. Congratulations to Andrew, Kaitlin, and Kelly on their new Personal Bests! Our First Five Finishers were William, Kaitlyn, Michael, Sam, and Rahul. It was great to see Junior parkrunners out front as the first three to finish!

A special welcome to the dedicated participant who made the drive up from Ocala very early on a Saturday morning. We're always happy to see folks from surrounding communities.

Depot Park Parkrun 07/02/2022 —Red, White and Blue Themed Parkrun & Picnic Day!

We showed up in red, white & blue this weekend to celebrate the USA, while also connecting with 200,000 fellow parkrunners around the globe! Temperature at start time was 75° and felt like 84°, with 93% humidity.

This week 49 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 12 were first timers and 2 recorded new Personal Bests. Congratulations to Luis and Sienzhi on their new Personal Bests! Kudos to our First Five Finishers: Robert, Chris, Sarafina, Nigel, and Luis.

It was a steamy morning at Depot Park today, but our barkrunners had a message for us...let’s do this! Temperature was 74° with 96% humidity.

This week 70 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 11 were first timers and 13 recorded new Personal Bests.
