Clermont Waterfront parkrun Event number 321 – January 4th 2020

written by Kendyl Caldwell

After a successful New Year’s Day parkrun, we had yet another great showing of 183 participants this past Saturday to complete the second event of 2020. It was a little more humid than it has been lately, but the cool weather and beautiful course still made for enjoyable running conditions. Heading into 2020, parkrun Clermont has big goals for improving on the success they have already found. Part time run director Rissie Thieler says “I would like to add many new parkrunners from the community in 2020 and I would also like to have more of our current parkrunners volunteer.” If your goal for the new year is to try something new, get more active, or help out the community, Parkrun Clermont is the place to do it.

There were 18 new personal bests and 23 first timers. It is great to see people improving their results and to welcome so many new participants.

Congratulations to Anthony Whyld, who completed his 50th parkrun today! He began coming out in 2018, and has consistently shown up almost every weekend.

This week 183 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 23 were first timers and 18 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 15 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 14 volunteers:

Rissie THIELER • Kevin GROGAN • Kendyl CARDWELL • Toni RICHARDSON • Hector CLEMENTE • Jim PICKERING • Carolyn HARMON • Roy FENSTERMAKER • Michelle FENSTERMAKER • Ben PICKOS • Anne ROLLYSON • Libby BROUWER • Jeffrey SCHENCK • Zora SCHENCK
